The Case of the Local Library
The local library often needed to share access to the community activity room. The challenge was that staff either needed to stay after hours or come in on weekends to allow entry. The only other option was to close down after hours use, a choice nobody wanted to make. The library had a small budget and all the doors were old including a 2” thick door that was beautifully carved. So, the librarian called in Rick’s Security Service to consult on the situation.
Rick recommended a pdqSMART Grade 1 mortise lock and HCND ethernet bridge to enable remote operation so staff didn’t have to be on site after hours or on weekends. Rick also recommended a new PDQ 7100 DA door closer to better control the door and help the library maintain ADA compliance. At the end of the day, the cost of the system was less than what it would cost in employee overtime to keep the community activity room open.
Case Closed. The customer is happy and Rick beefed up his bottom line with business that was unattainable before pdqSMART.
